Minalee Saks is Oregon "Woman of Achievement"

Birth To Three’s executive director, Minalee Saks, has been named one of Oregon’s 2011 Women of Achievement by the Oregon Commission for Women.

She was selected because she fulfills the program’s criteria of leadership and success in one’s area of expertise; promotion of the status of women in society; reflection of a commitment to equity and diversity; and service as an exemplary role model.

Saks co-founded Birth To Three 33 years ago and has grown it to a nationally recognized parenting program providing local services and international support. Birth To Three has served nearly 90,000 local parents and their children. The non-profit’s mission is that every child will be raised by nurturing, skilled parents.

Minalee and the three other winners will be honored this fall.
