Birth To Three is 2010 Rotary Duck Race Recipient

Birth To Three will be one of five agency recipients of the 2010 Great Rotary Duck Race, a fundraising effort by United Rotary Eugene-Springfield-Cottage Grove.

With this support, Birth To Three will provide two teen parent groups that serve 135 vulnerable pregnant and parenting teens and their children. The Young Parents Program provides parenting education, support and referrals that are vital in helping these young families reduce the potential for child abuse. The Great Rotary Duck Race, presented by First Tech Credit Union, helps agencies provide child abuse prevention programs. Birth To Three's goal is to sell 1,500 tickets.

Tickets cost $5 each or $125 for a book of 25. Every ticket is eligible to win a prize at the Race, which occurs Saturday, Oct. 9 at Alton Baker Park.

Buy tickets at Birth To Three's office, 86 Centennial Loop, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The office is in a carousel-shaped building north of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard near Kowloon's Restaurant.

The tickets may be used as gifts or employee incentives or for yourself. Prizes include:

1st - $22,500 2011 Hyundai Sonata (Rotarians, Sheppard Motors, Pacific Continental Bank, Bryson Distributing)

2nd - $4,800 Nordic 5-seat Spa (Rotarians, Eugene Spa & Hot Tub Company)

3rd - $3,700 Sapphire & Diamond Gold Necklace (Charles Beaudet Jewelry)
